On Water, MEPS marine users include the US and Canadian Coast Guard for rescue operations; that implies the weather is nearly 100% bad, seas are nasty and some poor soul is counting on help to arrive. MEPS supplies some of the world’s best work-boat and pleasure-craft builders, repair shops, marine electrical suppliers and end-users, who need cruising power for heating and air-conditioning or maybe a freezer unit to chill the day’s catch or who may just want to brew a pot of coffee to knock out the early morning chill. Solutions partners help MEPS to engineer and integrate even the most complex solutions for engine-off, battery back-up and charging, power-assist, shore-power, 12, 24, and 48 Volt DC and an array of controls, monitors circuit breakers and switch panels.
On Land, MEPS work-truck users operate in equally harsh environments like the hot dusty summer oil fields of West Texas, the cold ones up in Canada and the salty-air of Louisiana, Venezuela, Argentina and Turkey. The MEPS precise and clean power give HDTV / ENG / SNG broadcast news teams ultra clean power with far less total-cost of ownership than traditional gen-sets and with far more reliability. FEMA and the US 5th Army depend on MEPS to power their communications equipment when disaster strikes. Fire and Rescue teams all over have depended on MEPS for years to light up the night when there’s an emergency.
Installation, MEPS is a one-stop-shop: to facilitate the best-in-class installation experience, MEPS offers under-the-hood brackets, high-idle / high-throttle / high-governor controls and PTO-driven systems so that your system ships as complete as possible.
MEPS system description, there are 2 main parts:

The MEPS Alternator is the heart of our system. It’s a 3-phase AC, 6-pole, high-output alternator about the size of a gallon paint can at half the weight of most others on the market. Since we start with 3-phase AC, (and unlike big DC generators), MEPS transmits more power down a cable the about size of your ring-finger with minimal power loss – even if the cable lengths reach 50 feet (15m).
The MEPS ACU is the second major part. It’s small, our most popular system is just about the size of a shoebox, only weighing around 18 Lbs, (8.2 kg). The technology in the MEPS ACU does 2
unique and important things: 1) senses, monitors and protects the MEPS alternator, and 2) converts the 3-phase power coming in from the alternator to pure sine wave, single-phase power, maintaining exact frequency and highly regulated voltage simultaneously, even as the alternator RPM varies. The ACU has an output from which you run wire to your distribution panel and/or device(s). Actually the power on your boat or truck will likely be more exact than what comes out of your wall outlet at home. Now, don’t try this at home, but our tests show power remains stable when our engineers pushed the system outside of its safe operating range, even around 20,000 alternator RPM – now that’s regulation!!
